If you want to help boost your sales, then utilising point of sale signage is a fantastic way of catching your customer’s eye. Innovative and effective use of point of sale marketing will not only help you to sell more stock, but it will also improve your customer’s experience in your shop, encouraging them to visit again.

How effective is point-of-sale marketing?

Very. Did you know that depending on the type of store, we make between 30% and 80% of our purchasing decisions whilst stood at the point of sale? That makes it your store’s last great marketing opportunity before your customer leaves. In a world where more and more people are shopping online, you have to maximise the opportunity you have when you have a customer in store, and there’s no better way than fully utilising the point-of-sale.

What types of point-of-sale marketing are there?

Point of sale marketing products and strategies come in a variety of forms:

Shelf wobblers and shelf

Shelf talkers are small signs that attach to a shelf, and shelf wobblers are very similar, but are designed to hang down over the shelf. Both of these are very eye-catching and are designed to communicate particular deals to customers. They’re both very good at this and are easy to set up too. Due to their small cost, they may well be the most cost-effective point of sale marketing method.

POP display

POP displays are point of purchase displays and a custom POP display can be an extremely effective point of sale tactic. Because they’re custom made, point of purchase displays can be made to fit for your specific space, and take up as much room as you like. They’re incredibly portable too, and break down so they can be transported or posted cost effectively.

Window cling

What would you rather your customers be looking at? The street outside or a carefully designed marketing message promoting goods you have for sale? Window clings can convey enticing and effective marketing messages to your customers and give your customers information about the sale instantly.

Banners can be a fun way of communicating with your customers. Bespoke banners for seasonal promotions or special days such as Valentine’s Day can have a real impact on your bottom line. Banners catch your customer’s attention and are an effective use of the space in your shop, as they don’t take up valuable counter space.

If you’re not using point of sale signage then you should be. Having well designed point of sale signage that is refreshed regularly will mark your store out as something that little bit different and a little bit better than its competitors. By encouraging loyal customers to make extra purchases at the till, you can seriously improve your store’s revenues as well as increasing your customer’s overall shopping experience too.
