Steve Upham, Director, altpsace
Our relationship with altspace started 3 years ago in a coffee shop just outside St James Park tube station in London – a quick meeting about branding advice has turned into a 3 year long branding and graphic design partnership. Steve at altspace came to us with an idea to set up a co-working space in South Manchester, being involved from the early stages allowed us to work together to produce a brand that is now much loved in its home in Altrincham and Greater Manchester.
altspace was a little before its time on the co-working space in the North.
With a deluge of co-working spaces open in Manchester in the past year or two, co-working has become a big thing across the North West. altspace needed an identity that could be used across offline and digital channels.
We’ve all been a startup at some point, it is a hard time. One of the first things altspace needed to sort was a clear identity to stand out in a competitive space.
Co-working is and was a growing area in the North West and beyond. A clear brand identity allowed altspace to launch with a clear strategy and identity.
Supporting brand and printed materials were needed to help communicate why freelancers and small businesses should move away from working at home to a co-working space.
Working with altspace is a joy.
In the 3 years we have been working together, we have created a brand identity, marketing materials, printed stationery and co-working space environmental graphics. The idea behind the logo design is to create an open door and space for freelancers and SMEs. The rectangular shape has been carried across all altspace marketing material, creating a consistent and recognisable identity remembered by the business community
As the co-working space upsizes in January, we will be working closely with altspace to make sure the environment is consistent with the brand design.
